11 Books We Are Excited to Read in 2019

As I get older, I prefer staying in and reading on my couch instead of going out (books don’t give you hangovers). People call me boring, but we all have our flaws. I also have this horrible habit of reading three books (or more) at the same time, and the chances that I will ever change are probably close to zero. It was really hard to narrow it down to a few books for our 2019 must-read list without overwhelming you. All of them have mixed reviews online, but I tend to trust those more than ones that only have five stars. Side note: we both are suckers for books about soul searching and business world.

Recap of 12 Looks That Made 2018 Memorable

Welcome back, and thank you for sticking with us throughout the year. We didn’t have an anniversary blog post since life got in the way, and sometimes we can hardly even keep up with emergency matters. It’s been a little over a year since NDS made its first steps into the blogging world, and it’s been an amazing, yet crazy…more like sleepless, overly-caffeinated ride. And yes, we loved every minute of it. It’s been a year of learning, not only about the fashion world, but about technology as well. But let’s leave it at that.
We are so grateful for this platform where we get to be who we are and express ourselves about the things we love most: fashion and beauty. There are so many goals we have yet to accomplish and so many resolutions yet to write, but it wouldn’t be the end of the year without a recap of the looks that make us proud to be your NDS duo:

7 Best Beauty Products I Discovered in 2018

We are continuing with our “Best Of” lists. We only have two more days to go so we are really trying to get our hands on all of the categories. What’s next? Well, my favorite one: beauty products. This category is one where I spend a significant amount of my money, because I believe in quality and that usually comes with a price tag. How can you blame me? My Instagram feed (just like yours) gets hit by so many products on daily basis that it becomes overwhelming. And for that exact reason, I won’t be telling you about every product that lives on my shelf.

Today I’m here to talk about my favorite beauty discoveries that were made throughout the course of past year. I’m sure you have seen them all over Instagram, but I just wanted to give you my word for it. Here are products that have moved from “the nice to haves” to “must haves” list. Seven products I genuinely recommend as a girl with dry hands, dry hair and combination skin, my seven beauty standouts of 2018:

Milk Makeup KUSH High Volume Mascara Mini and collection of gold earrings

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation ($44): smooth and blends in easily. It stays on beautifully throughout the day, and trust me it’s not an easy thing to find for a girl with oily skin. Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil ($84): I use it mostly on my roots after a shower and before styling. It works great as a finishing product and helps with flyaways. A little goes a long way so that price tag is really not as bad. You can always add a few drops to your hair mask. Milk Makeup KUSH High Volume Mascara Mini ($12): It instantly boosts length and volume. It separates lashes like no other one did before. It lasts all day and is easy to wash off (you can’t sell it to unless I can remove it within seconds).

Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil and collection of gold accessories
Beauty products: Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil, Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation, Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel,Anastasia Beverly Hills Black Eyeliner, Gold earrings

NARS Orgasm Afterglow Lip Balm ($28): this is extremely hydrating. It goes on smoothly and adds beautiful natural color/gloss to my lips. I just really hope NARS doesn’t discontinue them…EVER. Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel ($22): even though I significantly cut back on wearing makeup everyday, I never leave home without fixing my brows with this gel. Super light, non flaky and keeps my brows in place for over 18 hours.

Anastasia Beverly Hills black eyeliner, NARS Orgasm Afterglow Lip Balm, AESOP Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm and gold accessories

Anastasia Beverly Hills Waterproof Creme Color ($18): I didn’t think I was ever going back to black eyeliner until I was introduced to this one. It stays on through both day and night. It goes on incredibly smoothly. I love how pigmented it is. Doesn’t fade. Doesn’t budge. AESOP Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm ($31): Instagram bloggers sold this one to me. It ended up on my Holiday Gift Guide for 2018. Smells like mandarin oranges with hint of rosemary. Weightless and not sticky. It’s the best hand cream yet, and trust me because I’ve tried dozens.

11 Instagram Looks We Loved in 2018

Now that 2018 is on its last note, it’s time for those resolutions to start filling up your notebooks. We don’t only like to fixate on the future, we also like to look back and appreciate all that has happened. And if you are a fashion lover like we are, then we say it’s time to reflect on the best fashion moments of this year. By that we mean: 11 best street style outfits of the 2018.

Where do we begin? Let’s start with one thing that we love most: our Instagram feed. If you are not part of the “I find my looks on Instagram” club, then you need to step your game up. No hard feelings. It’s time to join the club (or clan, as some say). Instagram is the first place things are usually happening. We confess to stalking the wardrobes of Instagram icons, but we plead Not Guilty because how could anyone resist? Deep down in our hearts, we truly hope that one of these days we can poke our heads into their real-life closets. Still: Not Guilty.

Throughout the past year, we have saved thousands of pictures of looks we love, pieces we want in our closets and beauty products worth the rave. So when we tell you we picked out our top fave looks of 2018, you can only imagine how much scrolling was involved. But hey, it’s time to give those people the credit they deserve.

10 – Cable Knit Sweaters You Need to Wear this Winter Season

Do you have enough white sweaters in your closet? We think we know the answer to that: There can never be enough. For some reason, those oversized chunky sweaters held a very special place in our hearts the past few years…and dozens of them made it into our closets. If we had to award them a prize according to style, cable knit sweaters would take first place. We dedicated our Pinterest boards to them, and our “saved” section on Instagram is loaded with cable knit sweaters in all shades of whites. No shame in that. Okay, let’s cut to the chase already. How familiar are you with the phrase “Cozy has never looked this cute”? That’s just a hint for what you are about to see.

Why Layering Is The Best Part of Fall and Winter Fashion

The best part about fall and winter is layering. I love that I can take all of my favorite pieces and still wear them no matter what the temperature is like outside. You can still look cute and fashionable even when the temperature drops. There are two ways to approach layering: You can go the monochromatic route and create a very clean, sophisticated look using one color, or choose an outfit with a contrasting pop of color, just like I did with these denim pieces.

Black suede coat in combination with grey turtle neck sweater.

9 Eye Cream Products I’m Looking Forward to Try

They say the skin around your eyes ages 39 times faster than the skin on your face. If you believe in that like I do, then you know we need all the help we can get when it comes to caring for this delicate area. Healthy skin starts from the within, but when it comes to wrinkles, a good eye cream can help. What I believe in is: prevention. The earlier we start to take care of our eye area the better. With that said, here are some of the most promising eye creams that I have been wanting to try, and trust me when I say I wouldn’t pick just anything:

Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum $69

Helps skin around eyes look firmer and smoother.

Bye Bye Under Eye Eye Cream

It feels like this list could last me a year or longer, but I can’t wait to try them all.

Skincare Products I’m Using Every Morning to Make My Dry Skin Happy

When is the right time to start using skincare products, and what products should you even begin with? My mom has always said the earlier the better, so it all began for me when I was about 15 years old. I’m not talking about advanced skin care or exfoliation, no…none of that. Just regular products and a basic skin care regimen to keep my dry skin healthy and hydrated. As time passed, new concerns came up along the way — namely, how do I keep wrinkles and random breakouts at bay? Well, it took me about ten years to get where I am now with my morning and nighttime skincare routine, and to finally love each and every product on my shelf. (Call me picky!).
Welcome to my skincare regime:
Essential-C Cleanser has phospholipids and sodium PCA which attract and bind moisture to dry skin, while a combination of vitamins A, C and E defend skin from free radical damage.
Lancom Tonique Toner is perfect to use when my skin feels a little drier than usual.
Olehenriksen Facial Water I use this when I need to add some hydration to my skin before or after makeup. It’s also great for touch ups throughout the day.
Thayers Witch Hazel Toner is perfect for when I start noticing my skin tone is uneven, plus it gets rid of every last trace of makeup that didn’t come off after cleansing my face.
Biossance 100% Squalane Oil is the holy grail for my dry skin. I felt like this is what I have been missing my whole life.
love this SkinCeuticals Daily Moisture I because it doesn’t clog my pores. I used to have little bumps on my forehead from using heavy moisturizer. This one has not done that, and the bumps are all gone. I only use moisturizer during the day because I feel oils and creams would be too heavy to sit on my skin all night.
Banana Bright Eye Cream: I haven’t experimented with too many eye creams yet, but I do like this one a lot.
