Where Do I Shop for My Most Favorite Swimwear Pieces?

Where Do I Shop for My Most Favorite Swimwear Pieces?

Vacation season is here! For most of us that means beach, hot weather settings! So now would be the right time to start your hunt for some trendy swimsuits. I don’t know how you get the swimwear shopping done, but i’m part of the “shopping online” team, particularly because it gets uncomfortable at the times (i won’t be getting into the details), but also the lighting kills it for me as well, so online shopping it is. Enough talking let’s to the point: today I’m going to guide you through my most favorite swimwear online shops. Ready. Set. Go.

6e7c2f42-2ddf-4a2f-b5f8-c98b12b436f2

Naked Wardrobe: we all know this brand for it’s insanely affordable, curve-hugging bodysuits and dresses. BUT, what have been life changing for me (I know I can get obsessive at times) it’s their swimsuits. The way the fit… I mean just go look on pictures on Instagram. I’m here to tell you that those pictures don’t lie. I have bought three of them and honestly have loved them all. Favorites: BAD BEACH BANDEAU BIKINI , TANKED ON THE BEACH ONE PIECE, MESH ME OVER COVER-UP.

img_1640

Fox Swimwear: this swimwear brand is part of the Australian online shopping company White Fox Boutique. The color and the quality of the material doesn’t get ruined no matter how many times you wash it. Trust me on that. Another great thing about this brand is that if you love one color you can chose from a couple of differently styles, the ones that fits you best! The only problem is that you will love all of the options, so be careful and don’t hurt your bank account. Another quick advice: don’t let those items live in your cart for too long, because they get to sell out pretty quickly. Favorites: PALM SPRINGS BIKINI TOP RED RIB, ST TROPEZ ONE PIECE TANGERINE, TULA BOTTOMS RED RIB.

Onia: WeWoreWhat Collection: well known influencer Danielle Bernstein teamed up with Onia to create her own line, which is so freaking cute!! Reviews will tell you that all of the pieces fit great. They are a bit higher in the price but that’s only because they are more on the high end side. If you are debating wether to splurge or not, think of this: if those pieces are more expensive, there is a chance they will last longer. 😉 Favorites: LYDIA BIKINI TOP, EMILY BIKINI TOP, DANIELLE ONE PIECE SWIMSUIT. Btw, they have 25% off your purchase on Memorial Day Weekend.

Revolve: finally get to tell you about my most favorite place to shop for everything: starting with dresses and ending with shoes. I don’t think there are any other online shops that will give you so many options and all from different brands as Revolve. If you are on a hunt for trendy things, Revolve got you all covered. Favorites: THE CLEVELAND ONE PIECE, SHINE BRIGHT TOP (with the bottoms), HAVANA BANDEAU TOP (with the bottoms). Cover up: PEEK A BOO, KIRA ONE PIECE BIKINIHILARY PANT.

Happy swimwear shopping lovelies!

My love for short trips: Miami edition

My love for short trips: Miami edition

If there is one thing I love more than work, fashion, reading and spending time with my friends, it’s combining everything that I mentioned with 80 degree weather.

img_1576

There are a few things that I love about short getaways:

1.  Not much planning is needed. When it’s just a quick weekend trip, then I can focus on relaxing. Because I know I won’t have much time to see or do too many things, I can let myself be lazy. No need to pack or plan two weeks’ worth of outfits. I honestly struggle to pack for a two-day getaway, and by that I mean I usually end up bringing too much clothing, or too many pairs of shoes and my whole vanity. The struggle is real.

img_1581

2. Quality time with friends without getting on each other’s nerves. No matter how much you love your friends, a four-day trip might sometimes be overdoing  it. Three days away tend to work best for most people. (I really hope not many of my friends are reading this!)

facetune_13-04-2018-18-58-48

3. Short trips make me appreciate my getaways more. Since I know there is not much time to waste on a short trip, those two or three days will slip away faster than I can blink. For that reason, I try to make the best of every moment.

4. They say that people who take vacations are much happier and calmer. Imagine taking a trip once a month? Taking quick trips to other cities and getting a change of scenery, even if it’s just for the weekend, works magic.

Trending Spring Piece: Trench Coat

Trending Spring Piece: Trench Coat
Good morning! Warmer weather is on its way! Could you think of any better combination than a trench coat and jeans for street style in spring?

Pair it with different shoes and tops to get a variety of stylish looks. Sometimes it almost feels like an accessory: since that one piece will make you look trendy and fashionable at the same time.

Don’t forget about sunglasses because details in fashion matter more than anything. You can find similar coat here, glossy boots from Vince Camuto here  and…. my favorite one piece that I wear with everything from Naked Wardrobe here. They just restocked so yes I bought another one. Currently I have two in my closet now. OH WELLLL.

Happy Wednesday!

How Do I Find My Everyday Motivation

How Do I Find My Everyday Motivation

How do you keep those engines of motivation roaring? Sometimes a cup of coffee simply won’t cut it. No, you need REAL motivation. Where do you get yours?

I’m a huuuuge fan of “how it all began” stories. I love learning about how brands were created and how successful companies were launched. There’s just something about reading the backstory of how a company started, often from humble beginnings, that makes anything seem possible. It lights me up and gets those creative wheels turning!

These kinds of stories might give you a better idea of what a company is all about, what their mission is at the core, but most importantly get some stories and experiences that inspire you to believe in your own ideas.

One of my favorite podcasts in the beauty industry is @breakingbeauty. This is how I got to know and trust brands such as @drunkelephant, @glossier, @smashbox, @lancome, @caudalie and many more. It’s very interesting to take a look behind-the-scenes, get the inside scoop on what sparked a great business idea, learn how they started, find out how much money they invested at the very beginning, and how many years it took them to create another unicorn in the ultra-competitive beauty industry.

c044d609-1fe4-457e-b929-370f9a0c6498

As I was going to our meeting this morning, I finally finished an episode about my favorite hair tools company, @invisibobble, which has changed my hair-ties game forever. But we won’t be talking about hair today. Instead, I want to share some advice that Sophie would like to give to those who are trying to navigate the business world:

“Do as much as you can possibly do, meaning only hire people on board if you really require them. If you can still do work yourself, do so, because as soon as you hire people, that’s a task you give away, which means you are farther away from that task and you have less control or understanding of that area. It’s very crucial in the beginning that you don’t hire too many people and you yourself don’t quite know what you are doing. That’s why you can’t pass that on to the rest of the team.”

Hope you’re feeling inspired! Happy Friday!

Be Fearless My Friend

Be Fearless My Friend

How familiar is the fear of failure to you? They say that when we are choosing what goals to pursue, we are mostly concentrated on how we are going to prevent losses instead of how we are actually going to achieve gains.

Shouldn’t we be more scared of being trapped with partners that we don’t belong with, jobs we hate and dreams that are not ours to pursue? Questions I ask myself every time when I feel that I’m not pushing myself outside of my comfort zone.

One of my favorite quotes when it comes to fear is: “If you’re not scared then you’re not taking a chance. If you’re not taking a chance then what the hell are you doing anyway?” There you have it.

Happy Monday ✨

Don’t Settle

Don’t Settle

Don’t settle. Don’t settle for a guy, a job, a city, or ice cream with no chocolate. Don’t settle just because someone has told you need to figure all of the above right here and right now.

Settling is not romantic. Settling doesn’t mean you are falling in love. Settling is just a decision that you are making but only out of fear of being alone. And let me tell you this: you are worth so much better.

Don’t waste your time on people that you don’t care for. Don’t waste their time. It’s not fair. Don’t lead people on. Don’t feel bad for them, because that’s not what they want from you. No one wants your pity. No one deserves your pity. Communicate your feelings to people. Tell them how you feel, they will appreciate it later. Tell them the truth, tell them if there is someone else in the picture. Don’t hide it. Don’t kill their trust from step one. Losing trust is irreversible thing. You will never get that back again.

Don’t settle. Your time is too valuable to spend it on people that you have no interested in, and your time is the only thing that you are entitled to in this life. They call it “your time” for a reason, so don’t waste it on people that don’t matter to you.

No matter how old you are don’t let yourself forget to believe in love. It exists. It will find you, just don’t settle out of fear.

Your NDS Duo,

xoxo

My Whole30 Challenge

My Whole30 Challenge
“Don’t you dare tell us this is hard. Fighting cancer is hard. Birthing a baby is hard. Losing a parent is hard. Drinking your coffee black. Is. Not. Hard. You’ve done harder things than this, and you have no excuse not to complete the program as written. It’s only thirty days, and it’s for the most important health cause on earth—the only physical body you will ever have in this lifetime” – all I needed to hear to eliminate: 1) added sugar, real or artificial; 2) alcohol; 3) grains; 4) legumes; 5) dairy; 6) baked goods, junk foods, or treats with “approved” ingredients from my diet for whole 30 days with no exceptions (unless we are talking about my trip to Vegas – one glass of wine and a dessert, not too bad for Vegas, right?) So what’s there left to eat? Honestly, not much.
I’m not a huge fan of the word “diet” since I feel like this one word kills the whole purpose of the program. Whole30 was created to help you change your emotional and physical relationship with food. This program exists so you can learn which food makes you feel good and which doesn’t, and if you loose weight that’s great, but be realistic and don’t expect crazy results.
So here are a few things that I would like to share with you:
  1. It requires lots of cooking. Tons of cooking. So at some point I realized all I was doing is cooking and cleaning, and we are talking about hours and hours. I was physically exhausted and I’m not exaggerating. What was helpful is their app – Real Plans. The app will plan out everything for you: from recipes to how much of groceries to buy for a week ahead. It took me a second to get a hang of it, but once I did, everything got so much easier. Learn more about it here.
  2. Eating out is not an option. You will just annoy servers and everyone around you. Trust me. I’ve tried.
  3. Snack is not an option either. You have breakfast, lunch and dinner and you must stick with that only.
  4. Sugar. Oh my. That was my biggest fear. I still have no idea how I pulled it through, but I did. The hardest part is that you are in it alone. Watching people eating chocolate around me was intense.
  5. You will loose weight, but be realistic. It’s only 30 days. I started seeing results on day 12. Overall I lost 12 pounds, but I think working out did its part as well.
  6. You will feel sick. At least I did. I felt light headed here and there. And you can start rolling your eyes right about now, but in my opinion that’s what happens when you start changing your eating habits, your body will react to it in some way.
  7. Your skin will change. I think that was something that literally blew my mind. Again I was never into nutrition or anything in that sort, but seeing how flawless my skin was for 30 days really changed the way I look at food now.
  8. Around day 12 you won’t care for sugar, dairy or carbs. You could have drank or eaten anything in front of me and I didn’t care a bit.
  9. Be ready to feel sick once you start introducing food back into your diet. It took me about 2 weeks before I stopped feeling sick after consuming any kind of dairy or carbs. I was nervous for a second thinking maybe I messed my health up, so I started reasserting and looking for answers. Here is what I found on their forum:
“One thing that happens when you eat foods that irritate your body is that your stomach develops a thicker mucosal lining to protect you from the irritation. When you do a Whole30, part of that lining sloughs off because it is no longer needed. So when you eat irritating foods again, your body is not as prepared to protect you as it was and you feel the irritation more notably than you did before. However, if you keep eating irritating foods, the mucosal lining will thicken again and begin to provide you the protection it did before”.
It’s important to listen to your body and make healthy choices. Watching how my body and skin were reacting to certain foods changed my relationship with it forever. And don’t get me wrong: I’m not saying no to burgers and chocolate, I believe that everything is good in moderations.
So who is joining me in my next Whole30 challenge?

     xoxo

Dark Navy Pants in Combination with Glossy Ankle Boots

Dark Navy Pants in Combination with Glossy Ankle Boots

I have a hard time narrowing down my choices when it comes to social events. What to wear? I’m sure you hear/say this a lot: «I have nothing to wear», even though your closet is overloaded with clothes. I feel that appearing in public puts a little more pressure on you, especially if your business is all about beauty, fashion and styling.

c67bd717-ef15-4cde-a7ca-16ab29a08b88  About two weeks ago we attended #OakStreetFashionShow that took place @thompsonchicago. The best part was that all the proceeds of the event went to the Glass Slipper Project which is an organization that provides young girls the dresses and accessories to go to prom with. Being so passionate about fashion we know exactly how clothes can make you feel – powerful, strong, confident, and of course pretty. We find it so important for every girl to feel beautiful and feel that she fits in, regardless of what they can afford. If you would like to donate any dresses or accessories you can do so by following this link.  Sooooo about that night 👉🏻

img_1354

I decided to go with dark blue @zara pants (too bad the pic is too dark to see the color) and I styled it with a black bodysuit. You can find similar pants here and here and here (I’m obsessed with the pair).

img_1379

To make it more fun and trendy I went with a high crown hat (seriously the hottest thing of this season). Find similar here and here and here. And glossy boots from @vincecamuto.  Buy similar here and here and here.

Happy Tuesday! 🖤

Pause. Take a deep breath. Keep going.

Pause. Take a deep breath. Keep going.

There are a few things that consume my energy and make me feel tired: negativity, stress, and worrying about things that are out of my control.

Tea time        Starting out our beauty and fashion blog has been an exciting journey, but also an exhausting one. We both have full time jobs, which means there are sacrifices we make to keep doing what we love.

Things as waking up at 6 am so we can meet for at least 3 hours every day/every other day and work on new projects. The idea of us creating something is what keeps us going. We feel accomplished. We know that we always have the choice to sleep in or to reschedule our weekly photoshoots, but then how we are going to succeed if we let tiredness be in charge?

Constantly being on the phone throughout the day can be very draining. Not only for us, but also for people around us. This is why we take it a little bit easy on Sundays, so we both can find space and time for our family and friends. Balance is key to success and to healthy living.

keep on moving forward

One of the things that we both find very helpful is power naps and yoga. If you take a 20 min nap you feel like a new person right after. I know it’s hard to find space and time, but trust me – it will change your life. Yoga is probably the only one time when we are able to take our minds off work. Technically that’s the only time when we are not thinking about work, but actually focused on something else, like poses and breathing. It helps to relax and take a step back, find the space where we can reconnect with our inner-selves.

Whatever that is that makes you feel tired or exhausted it will all be worth it at the end – just don’t forget why you started. Pause. Take a deep breath. Keep going.

xoxo

Velvet Black Cocktail Dress

Velvet Black Cocktail Dress

When you buy a dress and spend some money on it, you want to make sure you will get to wear it a lot. We girls don’t like to be seen in the same outfit too often, that’s why we come up with different ways of styling our best pieces. One of my favorite dresses is this Velvet  Black Cocktail Dress from Alice & Olivia. I like how elegant it is but still with a hint of fire.

On top I’m wearing camel Armani Blazer, but it looks like they have sold out. Argh. Buuuuut I think these three options will be a great fit as well. Camel Hair Blazer from Talbots, or this more affordable J.Crew Women’s Parke Blazer  (I’m actually going to buy this one in navy for myself).

Shoes. Oh these shoes. You have seen them all over our blog. My obsession with them is that they make you look taller, slimmer (yes, you read that right) and of course sexy. You can find this style anywhere from Steve Madden (btw these are on SALE) to Vince Camuto.
